How does a VPN account work?

As soon as you connect to our VPN server your computer is assigned a new IP address, an IP address that is owned by us, not your ISP. Then all of your Internet traffic is encrypted and is tunneled to our VPN server. Once there, it is decrypted and allowed to travel to its intended destination. Your local ISP will only see a single encrypted data stream between you and our VPN server. Your ISP can no longer monitor, log or control your Internet usage.

Why would I want to do this?

It really depends how you use the Internet. If you wish to make a voip call to save money on your long distance, but your ISP has blocked it. If you want to watch USA or UK TV program online outside USA or UK. If you use our VPN service your ISP will no longer be able to determine what you are using and will not be able to block your usage. If you are at work you may wish to use our service so that your employer can not log, monitor or control how you are using the Internet. Maybe you are looking for a new job and don’t want your boss to know about it. Unless your boss uses a keylogger or discreet image capture software, then you are safe from prying eyes.

Problems to connect, what to do?

Make sure that you run the OpenVPN client as administrator

A common solution is to manually run the OpenVPNclient as administrator, you perform this by right-click on the OpenVPN GUI icon and pick the user with administrator rights.

I run the OpenVPN client as administrator but i still do not get connected.

1. Make sure that you enter your login details properly, our system make difference between upper and lower case letters. If there is any issues with your login details, you will se the following message in the clients window: SIGTERM[soft,auth-failure] received, process exiting.

2. Try to deactivate your firewall.

3. Shut down and restart the OpenVPN client, if it still do not work. Restart your computer.

4. Still not connected? Contact our support service on support@vpnforfree.net, paste the log from the OpenVPN client window, that way we are able to troubleshoot.

TLS Error: local/remote TLS keys are out of sync:

This error is usually the result you reconnect too fast. Wait 15 seconds and connect again.
